In 1954, Charles Fite started Fites Automotive & Son Shell Service, with the vision of a business built on honesty, integrity, and customer satisfaction. After many successful years, Tommy turned over ownership to son Bill in the late 1960's. Following in his fathers footsteps, Bill continued the quality of service and repairs that had been instilled by his father. It wasn't long before the business had grown enough to warrant a new location and a new name.

In 1979, Bill built a new facility at Poplar and White Station, and started Fites Automotive Specialists. Serving the automotive repair needs of the local community, Bill kept with the family tradition of service excellence by hiring and training the finest technicians and customer service representatives. Realizing the success of his hard work and increased consumer demand for honest and reliable auto repair, Bill soon decided it was time to open another location.

In 1981, Bill called on son Bobby to assume operations of the new business located at Summer and Trezvant in Midtown. Because of the family values instilled while growing up, Bobby has retained the same formula for business success as his father and grandfather.
